OBJECTIVE
Create a visually compelling poster series for a fictional music festival, the Sunset Festival. The concept, name, and layouts were developed from the ground up. Visually and thematically, the posters were designed to reflect the idea of an eternal sunset—a symbol of peace, love, and harmony that endures.
APPROACH
Koi fish were chosen as the central motif, symbolizing strength, perseverance, and peace—values that align with the festival's mission. Their graceful movement adds a sense of flow and harmony across the posters. The use of soft gradients reflect the festival's dreamlike atmosphere and mimic the transition of sunset. The overall composition balances cultural symbolism with a modern, calming aesthetic.
SUNSET FESTIVAL
The Sunset Festival is a music festival that celebrates Asian and Asian American artists while raising awareness about anti-Asian hate and discrimination. The festival takes place during sunset, with the venue and experience designed to immerse the audience in a dreamlike atmosphere of warmth and serenity. The concept of an eternal sunset symbolizes lasting peace, love, and harmony—core values reflected in both the visuals and the music.
